The South Cape College is one of the most vibrant tertiary institutions
in the country, with affiliation to major technikons and universities.
Comprising five campuses throughout the region, it has close on
4000 students, both full and part time.
In addition to a wide range of diploma courses, the college also
offers first year BA, BCom and BSc degree courses and is drawing
students as far afield as Gauteng.
"We are achieving excellent results and believe the college
presents sound opportunities for outside investors to assist in
our growth," says Elsie Harmse, who is based at the Oudtshoorn
campus.
Courses range from cost and financial accounting, business management,
engineering studies and IT (ICDL & CISCO) to hair care, early
childhood development, secretarial and National Senior Certificate.
Among the most popular courses are marketing, tourism and hotel
and restaurant studies. Recently one of Oudtshoorn's final year
students in tourism, Cindy Smith, became the first ever college
student in the Western Cape to achieve 100% in her international
Galileo course - an achievement that landed her an appointment at
Nationwide Airlines in George. |
