Oakhill is an Independent School with a pioneering spirit whose purpose is to prepare children for the challenges facing them in a changing world.
Located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Knysna lagoon, the school caters for students from Pre-Grade R to Grade 12.
Oakhill opened its doors in 1992 and in just ten years has established itself as a school with a broad, balanced education that is modern and relevant, integrating the academic, cultural, physical and social aspects of a child's development.
Hilton Stander, the school’s Headmaster states, “At Oakhill we strive for excellence, recognising and nurturing the unique potential within each child. Young adults leave Oakhill with more than an academic qualification. Here they acquire lifeskills that will serve them well beyond their school years, sound values that incorporate respect for others, care for the environment, the ability to think independently, to make creative decisions and the confidence to achieve their dreams.”
Ownership of the school remains with the parents, who govern by an elected body, guided by the school's Constitution.
