More
face lifts for Mossel Bay’s Dolphin Bay Hotel
|
The Dolphin Bay Hotel, now officially graded a three star hotel,
is constantly undergoing refurbishing and improvements under the
watchful eye of MD Heinz Höffgen-Berger. The outside of the hotel
now sports a complete new look in gentle, earthy tones, whilst the
comfortable and spacious rooms are being redecorated in cheerful
fabrics. New furniture in the lounge/bar area blends in with the
deep blue of the Indian Ocean in the background and the "Anchorage"
a-la-carte restaurant offers a mouth watering new menu designed
by Austrian chef Eddie.
The new owners (Heinz Höffgen-Berger, Urs Windholz, together with
local businessmen Albert Wiffen and Tossie Steyn) have started a
landfill project for the pool garden and a lawn alongside the river.
“A trim park, a beach volleyball court, a small health & beauty
spa, as well as an outside lift are still in the planning stages
which will be tackled in the next 12 months” says Berger.
The hotel was built four years ago and offers 109 exceptionally spacious
bedrooms, each with DSTV and large balconies overlooking the bay and
the Outeniqua Mountains. There are flexible conference facilities
for 40 people, which will soon be increased to accommodate larger
groups. There is ample parking, including special parking reserved
for tour buses.
