OUDTSHOORN BUSINESS CHAMBER

The Oudtshoorn Business Chamber was formed on 28/01/2003, when the old Chamber of Commerce and the Afrikaanse Sakekamer merged.

Brief Overview :
• Busy summer tourist season experienced with an approx. 20% increase in numbers over last year.
• In excess of 150 000 people are expected to attend the 9th annual Klein Karoo Arts Festival. All available accommodation including private homes and campsites on school sports fields are fully booked.
• The 1st International Youth Festival and Expo will take place in Oudtshoorn in the July school holidays. It is expected that this annual event will grow to the same level as the Arts Festival.
• Oudtshoorn is highly dependant on the Tourism Industry and therefore all efforts are being made to identify new opportunities on an ongoing basis.

CANGO CAVES
The well known Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn receive over 220 000 visitors per annum, with over 50% being from overseas. December, January and April months are the busiest, accounting for 40% of the total annual visitor figures.
