Pezula Championship Golf
Course to implement GPS based management system
Pezula
Championship Golf Course has been selected as the first course in Africa to
implement the world's finest GPS based golf course management system. Visibly
excited, Jeff Clause, Golf Director at Pezula says, “Life should always be
about win-win relationships and the synergy between Pezula and the Informer GPS
System couldn't be stronger. Always leading from the front, Pezula leads the
way again by being the first course to unveil this interactive information
management system.” Imported from Canada by local distributors Golf-X, the
Informer system has been successfully implemented at many courses around the
world since its innovative launch 10 years ago. Golfers will experience the
system through a purpose-built colour monitor which will attach to the golf
cart. This will empower the golfer with a wide range of features to enhance the
already superb golfing experience available to golfers at Pezula under the wing
of Clause and his impeccable management team. Some of the features that golfers
will enjoy on the system will include precise (less than 1m accuracy) distance
measurements to flagsticks, hazards, sand traps and other landmarks, drive
distance measurements, pro tips, pace-of-play information, tournament scoring,
live leader board, weather alerts, electronic scorecard, emergency messaging,
food and beverage and pro-shop merchandise ordering. All on the golfer friendly
user interface. In addition, the unit will feature a live Supersport feed to
keep golfers updated with latest scores for all their favourite sports whilst
they're on the course. Clause talks enthusiastically of the benefits for
everyone. “Firstly, the win comes to the golfer himself. Secondly, the system
works for us, the Golf Course Managers. It allows us to control the flow and
pace of the golf course and to communicate with players and staff on the
course. And third, but by no means least, it allows us to support the local
business community by providing them with unique on-course branding
opportunities.” Whilst Scratch Golf Media, the company who market the media on
the system, have been inundated with demand from the corporate market, they are
making special efforts to encourage and assist appropriate local businesses to
take advantage of the limited opportunities available.
